Alan’s often been compared to a stand-up comedian, except you usually forget the jokes and no one forgets Alan, the Rock Star of Consulting®. In this session created especially for the Las Vegas Chapter, he’ll discuss the best traits for the success he’s gleaned working with his global coaching community and top executives. Among the issues he’ll raise in a highly interactive session:

• Why our default position is too often fear
• Why we tend to cede control and how to reverse that tendency
• Why you should never call yourself a speaker (or a coach, or a consultant)
• How to discover your true value, articulate it, and promote it
• How to say “The fee is $250,000” without laughing
• Why you should never deal with low-level people in marketing if you expect people to respect you

Alan has probably made as many chapter appearances (50+) as anyone in NSA because he believes in giving back to the profession. But he also believes in skewering the myths and shibboleths that hamper speaking professionals (standing ovations and high ratings really mean that you’re not doing your job). This year he’s been to Iceland, Nevis, Fiji, Tenerife, Marrakesh, South Africa (on safari), Palm Beach, London, and Australia. We’re happy we could grab him for a while, but it turns out he loves Vegas and once had Marie Osmond all over him after her show.
