Professional Bio
Dr. Katrina Burrus is a globally recognized speaker and executive coach who has spent three decades helping C-suite leaders navigate cross-cultural complexity and lead effectively anywhere in the world. She holds two master's degrees, including one in Global Management from Thunderbird, and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from the Fielding Graduate University.
A third-culture individual herself, having lived and worked across Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the United States, Dr. Burrus built her career on a simple conviction: the hardest leadership challenges are human and cultural, not technical. In 1994 she founded MKB Conseil & Coaching in Switzerland, and in 2010 she launched the Global Nomadic Leadership Development Institute to tackle a costly, persistent problem: 40 percent of leaders fail within 18 months of an international assignment, not for lack of skill, but because they struggle to belong and adapt in unfamiliar cultures.
She was the first Master Certified Coach in Switzerland credentialed by the International Coaching Federation, and her client roster spans the UN, Nestlé, Novartis, CERN, and the World Trade Organization. Her work centers on helping leaders develop “portable roots,” a stable sense of self that travels with them wherever they land.
Dr. Burrus is the author of Global Leadership and a TEDxMakati speaker whose keynotes have reached audiences across Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Bilingual and bicultural, fluent in English, French, and Spanish, and a dual Swiss-U.S. citizen, she brings a lived understanding of global mobility to every leader she coaches.
