Hi everyone, Following is a recap of the February meeting. We welcomed more new members and guests. The chapter is really growing. There were some truly amazing “High Fives” shared. From first paid engagements to being asked to be on international panels, the successes continue rolling in.
Keynote speaker, Sylvie Di Giusto (CSP), started us off in the morning with the first part of her talk. She talked to us about those critical 7 Seconds and how to make them count. Sylvie wowed us with her colorful, info-packed handouts, and as she spoke her keynote, she gave us little asides on how she presents her message to audiences worldwide. We got an inside view of what she does to capture and retain audiences and clients. She walked us through sixteen unique selling points and had us work through each point for ourselves. We could take these points and write a compelling “This is Me” statement. We wanted more of Sylvie, and she would be back after lunch.
We then heard from Deven Gillen https://storyy.co/. Devon spoke about the world of social media and that there is more to social media than “likes” He taught us that shares and saves are what we want. If your post or video is shared, it reaches a whole new audience. If that share is shared again, it multiplies even more. He gave us a formula for an amazing one-minute Instagram video: Have a hook, start with a pain point, a how-to, or a surprising fact, then talk about your story and ask people to share, save, and like. It was excellent and timely information.
After lunch, Sylvie Di Giusto joined us again and we workshopped the perception roadmap; how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us. She told us we all have a perception persona and should do perception audits regularly so that we remain true to who we are.
